Serving in Worship

Many people participate in the services at St. Mark’s.

Among them:

The Altar Guild: prepares the altar area by getting the communion elements ready and taking care of altar hangings, linens, and clergy vestments.

The Music Ministry includes the Adult Choir, which sings at the 10:00a.m. service; and the Handbell Choir.

Other instrumentalists play on occasion.

The Lay Assistants in Worship include:

Acolytes, helping the priests at the altar;

Lectors, reading scripture andPrayers of the People;

Ministers of Communion, administering the chalice;

Lay Eucharistic Visitors, taking Holy Communion to shut-ins following Sunday services.

Ushers give out bulletins and assist with the offering and flow of parishioners during communion.

Greeters welcome visitors and parishioners and assist visitors in any way needed including
escorting them to coffee hour.
